elcome to the MMCN 2008 website. As in previous years, MMCN 2008 will be held at San Jose Convention Center, San Jose, California, January 30-31, 2008.

For 15 years, the multimedia computing and networking conference has brought together researchers, practitioners and developers to contribute new ideas in all facets of multimedia systems, networking, applications, and other related areas of computing. Traditionally the conference features presentations of full and short papers, a keynote talk, and a panel of experts. Presenters are encouraged to make multimedia presentations and demonstrate their proposed solutions. Authors of a few accepted papers with the highest quality are invited to submit the extended version of their papers to a special issue of ACM/Springer Multimedia Systems Journal.

Original papers are solicited on all emerging technologies and traditional areas of multimedia, including but not limited to multimedia networking, measurement and modeling, multimedia systems, case studies and applications. Authors are invited to submit both research and industrial papers on original, unpublished work that is not currently under submission at any other conference. Papers whose contributions are supported by experimental evaluations are strongly encouraged. Both full and short papers are considered. All papers must be electronically submitted to the conference. Please visit the submission page for detailed instructions on how to format and submit your papers.

We are very excited to be continuing the MMCN tradition and look forward to your participation. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact the program co-chairs:
