Sumit Roy is currently a Lead Software Engineer at Rhythm NewMedia, where he helped launch one of the first advertising-supported mobile streaming video solutions for multiple network operators. His contributions include video adaptation and delivery, as well as performance improvements for streaming servers. Prior to Rhythm NewMedia, Sumit was a Senior Research Scientist in the Mobile Media Systems Lab at HP Laboratories where he worked on video-telephony services, mobile streaming media CDNs, and performance modeling. He has numerous publications and patents in these areas.
