Dr. Nabil J. Sarhan received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology in 1995. He then received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University in 2003. While pursuing his graduate degrees, he served as an instructor and received Penn State's Computer Science and Engineering Best Instructor Award. In 2003, he joined Wayne State University, where he works as an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and directs Wayne State's Media Research Laboratory. Dr. Sarhan's main research areas of interest are network and server support for multimedia applications, multimedia streaming, and video-on-demand. His research projects and educational initiatives are being sponsored by the National Science Foundation and Sun Microsystems. He has a strong publication record in top conferences and journals and has served on the technical program committees of premier international conferences.
